LINDSAY: Local MP Jamie Schmale has finished meeting with eight municipal councils. The visits included Peterborough County Council and the seven local councils which make up the riding of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock. The meetings proved to be a beneficial opportunity to discuss key issues and priorities within each municipality.

“Our riding is very large. Each and every municipality has their own needs and priorities specific to their region,” said Schmale.

The meetings started shortly after the election in Highlands East and recently concluded with Minden Hills Council. Schmale also visited the councils of Algonquin Highlands, Dysart et al, City of Kawartha Lakes, Brock, and Cavan-Monaghan.

“It’s my intention to work with the municipal councils of our riding,” said Schmale. “An open dialogue with the elected officials at all levels will help ensure our local priorities are at the forefront of any decision making in Ottawa.”
